Music has always been less fascinating than the people involved.
The lyric someone repeats. The verse they avoid.
The chorus that hits so hard they can't explain why.
Somewhere between the artist's intention and the listener's memory lives another masterpiece entirely.

I tend to wander around there.
Some people mistake that for criticism.
Others call it abrasive.
I understand why.

Observing intently has a way of making people uncomfortable
before it makes them feel understood.
Fortunately, I was never trying to be comfortable.
